Reflection on Civil Procedure II

Talent-based assessment

For the second semester, we have been introduced by Dr Shahrul a talent-based project whereby all of us must list top three of our talents such as singing, cooking, writing poems and whatnot.  We were asked to showcase our talents in pursuant to Civil Procedure's topics. We had theater, mock trial, poem reading with silat, singing, writing an anthology and even cooking and creating computer games! I was so amazed by everyone's hidden talents in various fields other than 'being a law student' especially the coding one. For me, I was tasked with another fourteen classmates to write an anthology. So, we decided to write a compilation of poems and short stories incorporating what we learnt in Civil Procedure subject. We named it as Antologi Puisi dan Cerpen Tatacara Sivil II Takhta Teragung. We also had a launching gimmick where involving Dr Khalidah sat on the throne ended with poem recitation by our beautiful Liyana Nadhirah.

Mock Interview

Mock Interview was set up by Dr Shafinas in the early semester as a preparation for us during pupillage. We were asked to make a preparation as if we were asking firms to apply our chambering, it was a good start as it reminded us how to prepare for the real, upcoming interviews.

Legal Opinion

We were tasked by Dr Haniwarda to write a legal opinion on the topic of enforcement of judgement and stay of execution.

Pressure Test

At the end of the learning session, we were tasked with a pressure test where we would get unexpected tasks regarding Civil Procedure and we have to finish 5 to 7 tasks given in more or less 2 to 3 hours. It was quite distressful as we have time limit yet I learnt something from this test. I learnt the importance of staying calm, how anxiety and nervousness just make things worse, it's okay not to be able to finish all the tasks as they have time constraint but also I think it is important to do the task perfectly rather than you finish all the tasks but they were not perfect and full of errors, never shy away from asking your senior partner with good manners, of course, they will help you and so on.

These are some parts of my journey for Civil Procedure II, nevertheless, I have learnt so much and I hope the experiences and knowledge that I got from this course will help me in the real world soon. Thank you for everything, Drs!
